Cybersecurity company, Symantec, recently held its first Partner Engage 2015 Conference for security partners in Singapore, where Australian businesses InfoTrust and Intalock nabbed gongs for their business efforts.

The Symantec Asia-Pacific and Japan partner awards include four Asia-Pacific and Japan award categories and six regional awards.

InfoTrust took home the Asia-Pacific and Japan Cloud Solutions innovation partner of the year award while Intalock Technologies won regional partner of the year.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Security Services was named Asia-Pacific and Japan GSI partner of the year; SoftBank Commerce and Service won Asia-Pacific and Japan distributor of the year; and Beijing Com and Lan System Tech won Asia-Pacific and Japan VAR partner of the year.

In addition, Jainam Technologies, Digital China Limited, ECS (Shanghai) Management, Ingram Micro Asia, Ricoh Japan Corporation, and Insung Digital were also named regional partner of the year alongside Intalock.

The winners were selected based on criteria such as innovation, overall performance in revenue, deal registration, technical and marketing investments, customer service excellence and certification.

Symantec Asia-Pacific and Japan vice-president of channels, Edwin Yeo, said the award winning partners demonstrated a deep commitment, and made outstanding achievements in addressing the biggest cybersecurity challenges of customers.

“I am confident that Secure One, our new enhanced partner program, will further support and accelerate partner growth and provide our channel partners with more opportunities to take advantage of the innovation and growth at Symantec,” he added.

InfoTrust general manager, Dane Meah said the company’s approach is to provide ongoing structured engagement that ensures customers have the best-practice configuration and therefore the best protection against advanced threats.

“This value-proposition has resonated with our customers, and has resulted in exponential growth in our business. We're proud that Symantec has recognised us for this innovative approach and are excited about what we will be delivering to our customers in the year to come.”

Intalock chief operating officer, Nikala Haber, mentioned cybersecurity is emerging as the top priority for CIOs as the popularity of Cloud, mobility and IoT create new security risks that haven’t been experienced before.

“As a result of these new security threats, we’ve seen a real increase in demand for information security solutions. Through strong partnerships with world leading security software providers such as Symantec, we will provide our clients with the very best technology available,” Haber said.

Symantec Asia-Pacific and Japan senior vice-president, Sanjay Rohatgi, claimed the company has always been a partner-driven company, and it will continue to be even more as it focuses on information security.

“Our partners have played a critical role in driving business success and contributing positively to customers across the Asia Pacific and Japan region. We look forward to working with our partners, as we advance security together and take a stand to keep information safe,” he added.
