Vocus and Amcom integration powers ahead with new products

Three new Amcom products come under the Vocus brand name.

As part of the integration process three new products have been adapted from the Amcom product suite under the Vocus Communications brand including Ethernet Multipoint, SIP Trunks and IP WAN services.

Vocus CEO, James Spenceley, said the merger created more choice and competition in the market.

“We’re committed to being the third force in corporate telecommunications,” he said. “The message we want to share is that this is only the beginning and there will be much more to come as we continue to shake up corporate telecommunications.”

Spenceley said the introduction of Ethernet Multipoint means it can provide Ethernet services for companies that need the flexibility of a fully meshed national Ethernet network, but want to maintain control of their WAN, whereas the Managed IP WAN lets customers leave the entire network to Vocus.

With SIP Trunks, it can provide running a voice network, while reducing the total cost of voice over traditional ISDN services.

The Amcom acquisition brought across extensive network assets that complement Vocus’ own fibre infrastructure as well as new products and capabilities that build on Vocus’ existing managed services, Cloud and security portfolio.

Vocus now boasts a market capitalisation of $NZ1.5 billion.
