Energy management and automation company, Schneider Electric, has teamed up with networking vendor, Cisco, to bring advanced networking and control system technologies to its customers.
The relationship will see Schneider Electric add Cisco to its Collaborative Automation Partner Program (CAPP), which enables it to offer the company’s industrial networking technology to Schneider Electric customers in more than 200 countries.
Schneider Electric said, in a statement, that the companies inked the partnership as many Schneider Electric customers already use Cisco technology but some IT departments required the implementation of Cisco technology as a standard across the enterprise, including the industrial network.
It added the partnership has opened new doors for the company as it is now able to leverage Cisco’s technologies to help deliver its enhanced industrial automation solutions.
“Cisco is focused on helping transform industrial customers by connecting people, processes, and data. Schneider Electric will leverage the proven technologies from Cisco to help deliver its enhanced industrial automation solutions,” Schneider Electric said in the statement.
“Complementing our core offer with partners like Cisco is the next step in our commitment to helping our customers operate high performance networks and systems,” Schneider Electric industry business chief technology officer and innovation and strategy senior vice-president, Fabrice Jadot, said.
Cisco Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia industry solutions group business development director, Sébastien Collignon, added that the program will enable the company to help customers in a variety of industries, as well as minimise risk and reduce implementation time at operational sites, thereby improving business value.
