Former Veeam Software channel sales partner business manager for NSW and ACT, Aggie Szemplinska, has joined software storage vendor, PernixData, as its A/NZ channel manager.

Szemplinska spent two years at Veeam in the partner business manager role. A spokesperson for Veeam confirmed Szemplinska’s departure, stating she left the company last month and “played an important role in growing and developing [Veeam’s] channel presence and go to market efforts in NSW and ACT”.

In addition, the spokesperson also said the company is currently reviewing candidates for the position, which it expects to fill in the near future.

Szemplinska has updated her LinkedIn page to reflect the move.

Prior to Veeam, Szemplinska was at Avnet Technology Solutions, initially as VMware business development manager, a role she was in for almost three years. She was then promoted to VMware and Veeam business manager,a role she held for only nine months.

Szemplinska’s hire follows PernixData’s appointment of Jonathan Silver as its A/NZ sales director in December last year. The company recently made known that it’s ramping up its Australian presence as it anticipates strong demand and growth in the region.

UPDATED 03/07/15: Szemplinska told ARN she was brought on board to PernixData to build the company's partner network.

"We're looking to establish a strong channel here in A/NZ - that would include distribution, a recruited and committed partner base, fully enabled partners that understand the value proposition of the company, and can incorporate PernixData as part of their vendor portfolio," she said.

Szemplinska said as PernixData is a 100 per cent channel focused company, she intends to help it grow its partner base through a couple of channel initiatives.

"I'll be focusing on a program that will include incentives, education, training, enablement, and marketing, but also recruit partners that really understand the value proposition of PernixData and can see the company as part of their go-tto-market strategy.

"Jonathan Silver looks after the sales division so I'll be interacting alot with him and the others in the local team to help build that going forward," she added.
