Vocus buys $15 million stake in Macquarie Telecom

Vocus has no intention but to hold the stake as a strategic investment

Vocus has acquired a strategic $15 million stake in Macquarie Telecom Group.

The interest is approximately 14.5 per cent of Macquarie Telecom, a managed hosting and business only telecommunications company.

It is a full service hosting provider offering managed dedicated servers, managed co-location, and managed private/public Clouds for midsize businesses, government and corporate IT departments.

Vocus has no intention but to hold the stake as a strategic investment, according to a company statement.

It acquired the interest under a physically-settled equity swap transaction for $15.619 million, payable on settlement of the swap transaction.

The investment is not expected to hae any material effect on Vocus' business and operatoins or its financial position and performance.
