Ingram Micro launches US Preferred App Dev Network

"Designed to complement, not compete with our channel partners"

Ingram Micro has launched its Preferred App Dev Network, the distributor’s latest professional services offering designed to expand partner value and margins through custom application development.

Available now in North America, and rumoured to be hitting A/NZ shores later this year, the program enables channel partners to extend services and generate new revenue streams.

Further benefits include the need to integrate disparate technology solutions by allowing them to tap into a “specialised services network” supported by Ingram Micro Professional Services and Ingram Micro Link.

Connecting channel partners to vetted network providers across a variety of technologies, solutions and platforms including Cloud, Big Data and mobility, the new service allows channel partners to expand services portfolios while identifying and developing applications that will enable businesses to Realise the Promise of Technology.

"IT solution providers, as well as IT departments, are often paralysed by the growing challenge around integrating various digital endpoints such as mobile apps, cloud-based solutions, social networks and a number of other tech advancements that are swiftly evolving across organisations," says Greg Richey, director, Professional and Training Services, Ingram Micro.

“Our new Preferred App Dev Network empowers channel partners to expand their value-added service capabilities by leveraging a proven team of expert engineers that are trained and specialise in custom development, migration and integration services.”

Industry analysts forecast the Global Custom Application Development Services market will grow at a CAGR of 5.18 per cent between 2013 and 2018.

Additionally, analysts predict the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) market is expected to increase at a CAGR of 25.7 per cent between 2014 and 2020, while the total global mobile applications market is projected to be worth $25 billion by 2015.

As a result, Richey believes savvy businesses are moving to capitalise on these opportunities by leveraging professional services to approach and prosper in areas they previously were unable to access due to limited resources and expertise.

"Designed to complement, not compete with our channel partners, the Ingram Micro Preferred App Dev Network offers IT service providers access to an expanded portfolio of lifecycle services and engineering talent that will help them provide greater value to their customers while at the same time increasing business productivity and improving the bottom line," he adds.
