Open cloud platform provider, Acquia, has hired Graham Sowden as its general manager in the Asia Pacific and Japan region.
He will be based in Sydney and is responsible for the company’s continued expansion in the region.
Helping fuel Acquia’s growth is the rollout of the Australian Government’s govCMS initiative, which was launched to help more than 500 federal government agencies across Australia increase their efficiency and lower their costs.
Acquia provides an open cloud platform and SaaS applications for the delivery of govCMS from an Australian data center.
“Graham is leading expansion of our team in APJ, helping grow our capabilities to meet the very strong demand for solutions that bring together content, community and context,” Acquia CEO,Tom Erickson, said. “We’re making key investments to grow our team in Asia-Pacific and Japan.”
Acquia will be growing its team in Australia to serve its customer base and broaden its market reach.
Key customers include Flight Centre, Foxtel, TransLink and Earth Hour.
Sowden joins Acquia from Informatica, where he was senior vice president of Asia-Pacific Japan. He also previously worked at Mercury Interactive, Progress Software and Fujitsu-ICL.
