Empired lands managed services contract with Toyota

Empired will supply Microsoft platforms including Mail, Sharepoint and Lync systems

Perth-based IT services outfit, Empired (ASX:EMP) has secured a managed services contract with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia.

The financial value of the deal hasn’t been disclosed.

The contract due to commence in April, sees Empired supply Toyota’s core customer facing Microsoft platforms including Mail, Sharepoint and Lync systems. Empired will also supply project services to these business critical platforms.

The contract opportunity was developed through Empired’s OBS acquisition in September 2013. Without this relationship, Empired would not have had the opportunity to tender for the contract.

“I am delighted that our recently acquired clients are seeing the maturity and strength of the broader services Empired can provide and the value that our clients can leverage from these services,” Empired managing director, Russell Baskerville said.

Empired stated that the contract transforms its engagement with Toyota from a niche project-based arrangement to a broader annuity-based contracted services arrangement at a substantially increased value.

“We continue to have a strong pipeline of major strategic new business opportunities and look forward to making further contact announcements in the near term,” Empired stated.
