Microsoft Azure available for WA customers via Express Route

Customers can connect directly to Microsoft Azure's Sydney and Melbourne datacentres

Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute is now available to Western Australian companies through technology services group Zetta.

Customers can now connect directly to Microsoft Azure's Sydney and Melbourne datacentres using the Zetta's national telecommunications network.

ExpressRoute is designed to help customers bridge public Cloud and on-premise resources such as physical and virtual server farms to privately and securely extend enterprise networks while improving performance, reliability and scalability.

According to a company statement, Azure ExpressRoute with Zetta offers speeds from 200Mbps to 10Gbps, multiple Perth datacentre interconnects, last mile integration for on-premise connectivity, unlimited network traffic and direct connection to all Azure Iaas and Paas products.

Zetta general manager, Mark Vassallo, said ExpressRoute gave customers a fast and reliable connection to Microsoft Azure, enabling diverse scenarios such as hybrid applications, disaster recovery and data migration.

"The service is especially suitable for WA based organisations seeking to move workloads to the Microsoft Azure public Cloud platform hosted on the East Coast whilst maximising network security and responsiveness,” he said.
