Australian technology integrator, Envisian, has launched its Inside the Cloud event series in conjunction with partner, VMware.

The first event kicked off at La Chinesca in Melbourne on 25 February. The series is aimed at IT professionals and is hosted in an informal setting at some of the city’s undiscovered venues.

Envisian director of Cloud services, Shane Lyell, said It is the role of IT teams to deliver and implement the right technology for their organisations.

“We saw a real need for IT professionals on the front lines to have the chance to really check out the various technology options on offer to their organisations.”

Each event will highlight an Envisian partner and feature a combination of demonstrations, information sharing and Q&As. Two more events will be held in Melbourne over the course of the year, the first scheduled for May and the second for September/October.

“Envisian’s intention is to be the best Cloud and technology transformation consultant for Australian organisations. Part of that, for us, is participating in the industry to generate these kinds of information-sharing and discussion opportunities,” Lyell said.

The format of small group demonstrations run several times over the course of the event allowed attendees to select the technologies they were most interested. The firm said it saw excellent participation in terms of questions and follow-up discussions.
