Mark Ablett has joined the team at Hitachi Data Systems (HDS).
The former Juniper Networks executive has been appointed senior vice-president and general manager, Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Ablett will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leading the company in its drive to capitalise on the fast growing opportunities in the region, boosting revenue growth and expanding the business.
HDS executive vice-president global sales, Michael Cremen, said Ablett was joining the firm at an “exciting time” as it looks to expand its solutions offerings in the region.
“His expansive industry knowledge and rich experience in the Asia Pacific market will enhance the impact of our team, partners and our companies in the region. Under Mark’s leadership, the opportunities for HDS are tremendous.”
Discussing his new role, Ablett said, “The Asia Pacific market is growing fast and companies are keen to capitalise on opportunities, leveraging valuable information and insights powered by technology.”
“I am excited to lead the HDS team to deliver highly innovative solutions to our customers, strengthen our partnerships with leading technology providers and cement our thought-leadership position in the industry. I look forward to driving the Asia Pacific business to even greater heights in the years to come.”
Ablett’s predecessor, Neville Vincent, will be moving to a role focused on expanding the firm’s global systems integrator business.
