Software AG names new A/NZ sales VP

Part of "ambitious" growth plan

Software AG has appointed James Wooster vice president of A/NZ sales as part of an ambitious expansion plan.

Based in Sydney, Wooster will be responsible for the company’s entire sales and marketing operation in the region, which will include driving continued uptake for the company’s portfolio of business infrastructure software products and solutions.

As part of his role, James will also be tasked with driving customer service for existing and net new clients, as well as overseeing key marketing initiatives across both markets.

He has also been given license to grow Software AG’s local sales teams and to drive strong margins and profit, particularly in the retail, financial services and government sectors, according to a company statement.

Previously, James was senior vice president of industry solutions for Software AG, based out of the UK.

He drove the growth and development of the company’s full Business Process Excellence (BPE) portfolio through direct sales, partners and marketing.

The BPE business line, which combines core IT capabilities to transform information technologies into dynamic business enablers for customers, accounts for almost 50 per cent in share of revenue for the company globally.

Before joining Software AG in early 2013, James held strategic sales roles with TIBCO and Cisco.

Wooster said he was thrilled to be joining the Software AG team championing growth in Australia and New Zealand.

"This dynamic region brings a whole host of opportunities and I look forward to driving Software AG’s sales and market expansion, as well as increasing the company’s brand recognition more broadly,” he said.

Software AG chief operating officer, Asia Pacific and Japan, Middle East and Turkey, Steve Keys, said the company had ambitious plans for the region and James’ appointment was a key part of its growth strategy.

“Software AG has made a number of appointments in Australia recently by leveraging its global management team," he said.

"We want to build a team in A/NZ that monopolises the depth of experience we have in other regions.

"In addition to his significant experience and knowledge, James brings proven sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, a persuasive ability and excellent communications skills that will really help drive our A/NZ business.”
