Lifesize has extended its global Cloud network with its first Australian point-of-presence at the IBM Softlayer's Melbourne datacentre.

The PoP supplies customers with dedicated 10Gbs interconnect bandwidth from Telstra.

At the same time, the new Melbourne PoP will support users deploying the new Lifesize Cloud service, which provides a connected experience to anyone using smartphones, tablets, laptops and especially conference rooms.

It is delivered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and is for organisations that want business-class video collaboration without taxing their budget or IT resources.

Lifesize vice-president, Andreas Wienold, said the company delivered a way to completely, cost effectively and efficiently enable every person in your company with the highest quality video collaboration.

“The combination of Lifesize Cloud and IBM Softlayer Melbourne PoP enhances our ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.”
