ASE delivers Cloud solution for Coco Cubano cafe chain

Head office solution includes Cisco handsets, Cisco conference modules and a wi-fi base station

ASE is set to overhaul Cuban influenced cafe chain, Coco Cubano, with a whole-of-business Cloud solution.

The solution includes ASE AppCloud for desktop management services, ASE UCCloud for the communications and collaboration platform, and ASE CloudCall, for call termination and carriage services.

ASE chief executive, Andrew Sjoquist, said the advantages of taking a whole-of-business’ Cloud approach to desktop and communications management were significant.

“The costs and IT management benefits speak for themselves. Desktop and email applications are fully managed and maintained; there are no upgrade costs; adds, moves and changes are done seamlessly and cost-effectively; and all franchises have access to highly competitive call rates via SIP trunking,” he said.

The Cloud-based solution was developed with Coco Cubano’s business drivers - with both head office and franchises - in mind.

It also enables a cost-effective, efficient way to manage its unified communications and applications infrastructure without the need for in-house IT specialists.

This leads to significant cost reductions, and increased efficiency when deploying new applications and telephony systems in a new franchise location, according to Sjoquist.

The head office solution being deployed also includes Cisco handsets, Cisco conference modules and a Wi-Fi base station. Every franchised business also includes a Cisco handset, a SIP channel and a Wi-Fi base station for the use of both patrons and restaurant staff.

Coco Cubano’s co-founder and managing director, Tony Melhem said the Coco Cubano franchise group is more than just a café, restaurant and bar, but rather a total experience for guests. “Cuba is an amazing place, and is the inspiration for Coco Cubano. We wanted to develop an overall experience of Cuba that is vibrant and fun, so it becomes much more than just dining out for our guests.”

With 10 cafés already open, including high-traffic areas such as Sydney’s Darlinghurst and Parramatta, Coco Cubano recognised it needed a solid communications partner to accommodate its solid growth plans over the next few years.
