DataCore has won a multi-year contract to supply its software-defined storage solution and services to transport firm, Transdev.
Transdev, one of Australia's largest transport companies, initially became a DataCore customer in 2011, when it engaged the company to provide it with a centralised storage virtualisation and management system.
The company’s IT operations rely heavily on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform and its Microsoft SQL server database system.
According to a company statement, Transdev needed a solution to accelerate the performance of these business-critical applications, provide highly-available shared storage to VMware systems, extend the life of existing HDS storage investments and optimize the utilisation of Fusion-io flash storage cards for high-speed workloads. DataCore’s software addressed all of these requirements.
Transdev’s IT Infrastructure Manager, Australasia, Mark Naidoo, said the company has since seen a six-fold improvement in storage performance with zero downtime.
“DataCore has provided a cost-effective solution that has become a critical part of Transdev’s infrastructure. We expect to be maintaining a strong relationship with DataCore into the future,” Mr. Naidoo stated. “The quality of its support services is superb and I would definitely recommend DataCore to other IT managers out there.”
DataCore regional sales director, Ian Heath, said the new deal demonstrates the strength of service and the commitment to the software and business partnership.
“Transdev has been a valued client for a number of years and DataCore looks forward to providing ongoing support and solutions for the business,” he said.
