Aussie software firm strikes e-commerce agreement with Alibaba will integrate buyer and supplier network with Bigcommerce platform

Australian E-commerce platform, Bigcommerce, has partnered to provide merchants with greater global access to products and services.

As part of the partnership,, will integrate its buyer and supplier network with Bigcommerce’s ecommerce platform.

Alibaba recently raised US$21.8 billion in its recording breaking IPO. It had US$8.5 billion in sales and US$3.8 billion in net income for its year ended in March, 2014.

The new partnership brings together online businesses with trusted suppliers to make it easier to find, purchase and stock products from all over the world.

Bigcommerce merchants can source products directly from manufacturers around the world — including the ability to find suppliers and receive quotes within 48 hours with the AliSourcePro service. director of global marketing and business development, Michael Lee, said the company was partnering with Bigcommerce to make it easy for customers to do business anywhere in the world.

Bigcommerce chief executive and co-founder, Eddie Machaalani, said the partnership would its merchants grow their online business every step of the way, from sourcing to selling.

According to a company statement, it will provide convenient access to new and hard-to-find inventory.

It will also allow a simplified buying process and streamlined checkout: Bigcommerce merchants will have single-click access from the Bigcommerce platform to where they can easily find products, register and complete purchases.

Safe and secure way to connect with trusted suppliers from around the world: Bigcommerce merchants can purchase goods directly from the world's leading network of independently verified manufacturers.

Merchants also receive access to buyer services such as Escrow, a payment protection program, and third-party inspectors for quality control.
