Ingram Micro inks LG distribution deal

The agreement will see Ingram Micro distribute LG's commercial displays

Ingram Micro has signed a distribution agreement with LG Electronics in a bid to take advantage of the rapidly growing commercial display market.

Ingram Micro will now offer LG’s complete range of commercial display solutions, designed to support and enhance businesses across numerous verticals including retail, leisure, hospitality, SMB, and transport.

LG’s solutions represent a major addition to Ingram Micro’s ProAV division, encompassing large-format Ultra HD resolution screens; video walls; outdoor, interactive, and digital signage monitors; and commercial TVs.

LG Electronics Australia, general manager of IT B2B, Andrew Barron, said the company had significantly enhanced its commercial display line-up with a suite of products that rate as some of the best in the market.

“With IPS Panels standard across the line up, we are able to offer premium quality products at very competitive prices,” he said.

“Our focus now is to develop our distribution and reseller channel with strong partnerships crucial to our future plans.

He said LG recognised that the ICT channel offered both breadth and exponential growth.

"Ingram’s position as one of the largest ICT distributors in Australia, combined with the fact that they already have established Pro AV teams globally including Australia, meant that they were the ideal partner to form this strategic relationship with.”

Ingram Micro will provide technical and product support through its ProAV division, leveraging its expertise in the area to help facilitate sales within its reseller base.

Ingram Micro senior director, David Lenz, said he saw the partnership with LG as a key driving force for increased adoption of commercial display technologies within the ICT channel, and a means of helping resellers diversify into profitable new revenue streams.

“As part of Ingram Micro’s continued push into the Pro AV market, we identified the need to establish a strategic relationship in commercial displays that would allow us to capitalise on the growth opportunity we see in this exciting segment," he said.

"LG shares our vision for the development of this market and with their outstanding and comprehensive product portfolio we will be well positioned for success.”

Ingram Micro’s head office in Rosebery, NSW, will house a new LG demonstration facility equipped with a wide selection of LG’s commercial display products including TVs and monitors.

Opening later this year, the facility will be utilised by Ingram Micro, its resellers, and LG Electronics as a venue for product launches, showcases, and training.

LG commercial display solutions are available from Ingram Micro today, with the full range available in coming weeks.
