Avnet inks Informatica distribution deal

Avnet will distribute PowerCenter Express in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore

Avnet has formed a strategic partnership with data integration software provider Informatica to distribute PowerCenter Express in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

PowerCenter Express is a downloadable offering that addresses the entry-level data integration needs of enterprise departments and small to mid-sized companies.

Powered by the Informatica Vibe virtual data machine, it provide customers with a clear growth path from entry-level to enterprise-class data integration capabilities.

It enables small to mid-sized businesses or departments within larger enterprises to easily get started with a fit-for-purpose, data integration solution, enabling them to scale to an enterprise-class platform when required.

Avnet Technology Solutions vice president and general manager, ASEAN, Bennett Wong, said Informatica and Avnet had a large channel ecosystem of resellers who could now leverage the companies' expanded solutions portfolio to pursue incremental revenue, in addition to being in a stronger position to serve the data integration needs of both SMBs and enterprises.

"There is also synergy in the vertical markets that we serve, such as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and the public sector,” he said.

Informatica vice president of sales APJ, Richard Jones, said Avnet had a proven track record for distribution success in the ASEAN region.

"By working together with Avnet, we will unlock the growing market potential for data integration needs, from a single developer to mid-sized and enterprise big data challenges.”
