IT consultant, Hills, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Network management firm, Uplogix, to expand its remote network management platform to APAC.
The agreement is expected strengthen the company’s growing satellite communications and mobility practice, according to a company statement.
Hills chief technology officer, Leica Ison, said Uplogix was the first and best-in-class local management platform that managed the IT network without using the network, eliminating all dependence upon it.
“Uplogix is effectively a ‘technician in a box’ and perfect for large companies or government agencies with networks that cover multiple sites, especially remote locations," he said.
"With Uplogix there’s no need to have a technician at every site - routine administration, maintenance and recovery tasks are completely automated and occur regardless of network availability.”
“This solution is proven to significantly lower operational costs and call-out fees as well as reduce network downtime.”
Hills business STEP Electronics is deploying Uplogix solutions in telecommunications, health, transport and banking markets across Australia, PNG and Malaysia, and expects much more interest as a result of this strengthened partnership.
