NSW Government looks to shared services community

Opens registration to assist in services delivery

The NSW Department of Finance and Services has opened registrations for the shared services community to assist it in the delivery of government back-office services currently provided by ServiceFirst.

This is part of the state government’s attempt to explore greater market participation with new commercial models.

Changes to the existing ServiceFirst model will be considered if evidence can be produced that an alternate sourcing model improves services and delivers better value for money.

Applicants interested in participating in the registration of interest must complete a document via the etenders Web site. Registrations close on April 22.

Short-listed applicants will be invited to respond to later stages of the program.

Evaluation of market responses will be completed by late 2014 and no decision will be made until this date.

VMware's sponsors and partners used the opportunity at VMworld 2015 to showcase some of their technologies. At an exhibition hall, these vendors educated those that popped by their stands on these solutions and addressed some of the issues surrounding mobility, datacentres, and the Cloud. SOme of the big names there included f5, Palo Alto Networks, HP, Intel, Samsung, and Symantec.
