2014 ARN ICT Industry Awards kick off at Judges’ Lunch

ARN committed to recognising 'courage and tenacity' in the channel

The 2014 ARN ICT Awards kicked off with the annual Judges’ Lunch at the Ivy Sunroom in Sydney.

Now in its eighth year, the ARN ICT Industry Awards recognise and celebrate industry excellence over the past year. To be hosted at a Black Tie Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, September 3, at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, the 2014 awards theme is Celebrating brave hearts – courage and triumph in the ICT industry.

As the entire industry continues to evolve towards new business models and addresses the sweeping technological changes, ARN commends the courage and innovation witnessed across the vendor, distributor and partner communities.

And there is much to celebrate. Across seven categories (vendor; distributor, reseller, community; personal innovation; telecommunications; and homegrown innovators), the awards applaud industry success and recognise talented professionals and high-achieving technology companies making a difference in the ICT industry.

New on the awards agenda this year is Cloud Technology as part of the Vendor category.

The focus is as follows:

Cloud Technology – This year’s focus will be on the industry's finest vendor solutions addressing Cloud in any of the three key areas: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS); and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

Other developments to report have come on the judging front. There are a few changes and additions as we welcome onboard some new faces (please see the ‘Judging Panel’ section for our full list).

Again this year, we have overwhelming support from the ICT community and have appointed more than 90 judges to our panel.

Please mark on your calendars that the nominations for the ICT awards will open May 28, 2014, and run until June 27. In addition to the main awards, ARN also runs the ever-popular Channel Choice awards, which will run for four weeks, from July 9, 2014, until August 8. Much like the popular-vote TV Week Logie Awards, ARN’s online-only, people’s choice awards give ARN readers a chance to choose their favourite vendor, distributor or reseller over the past 12 months. The winners of the three Channel Choice category awards will be those organisations with the most votes through ARN’s online poll.

And finally, the highly cherished Hall of Fame award will be announced at the Celebration Dinner on September 3. Over the past seven years, a host of the ICT industry’s finest have been inducted into the ARN Hall of Fame.

We look forward to presenting this exclusive accolade in 2014. ARN’s industry judging panel, as well as previous Hall of Fame inductees, will be asked to nominate this year's inductee, worthy of such recognition.

For our full list of previous inductees, please visit our Hall of Fame section.

Stay tuned for ongoing developments.
