Canon's 'Therefore' heading to the Cloud

Canon launches Cloud-based version of its Therefore software platform

Imaging company, Canon, has launched a Cloud-based version of its Therefore software platform.

Therefore Online provides is an information management system which intends to help businesses efficiently capture, manage, retrieve and control all its business information.

It is available on a pay-as-you-go monthly subscription model. Customers can choose the number of licenses and storage space required in their plan. Canon claims it is “completely scalable.”

All data is hosted and backed up on Fujitsu’s platform.

While data is stored in Australia, the first release will see the backup-as-a-service (BaaS) component of the solution occur in Singapore. Canon said the latter will also be transitioned to Australia 'in a future release.'

Therefore Online is an extension of Canon’s Therefore which is designed to provide a full information management and workflow solution for businesses across various information sources. This includes documents, barcodes, email, Internet forms, and electronic files.

VMware's sponsors and partners used the opportunity at VMworld 2015 to showcase some of their technologies. At an exhibition hall, these vendors educated those that popped by their stands on these solutions and addressed some of the issues surrounding mobility, datacentres, and the Cloud. SOme of the big names there included f5, Palo Alto Networks, HP, Intel, Samsung, and Symantec.
