Distribution Central surges over $250m mark for full year revenue

Records growth in all three divisions of company

Leading distributor, Distribution Central, has recorded revenue of $252.3 million for the 2012/13 financial year ending June 30. It is a record for the company.

The figure was an increase of 20 per cent on the previous year's revenue of $209.9 million.

Gross profit also jumped $3 million to $24.7 million.

The only figure that fell was net profit which tumbled more than $500,000 from $816,691 to $299,591.

However, the overall picture was healthy with growth across all three divisions including Firewall Systems and SAN Systems recording better than 10 per cent year-on-year figures.

The $250 million mark has long been touted as the "sell point" for the company. Co-founder and executive chairman, Scott Frew, told ARN recently that he builds companies to sell them and he was always willing to listen to an offer - if a prospective buyer could come up with the right price.

That applied to Distribution Central now it had reached the the $250 million revenue mark.
