Altech Computers national sales manager, John Robinson, has parted company with the distributor just a couple of months after signing up.
Robinson only started the role late last year, replacing former long-term staffer, Kevin Hartin, as national sales manager.
Altech managing director, Antony Sheen, said the decision had not been a personal one.
"It just didn't work out between us," he said. "In a short period of time, we could see we had different opinions."
Robinson was previously country manager of Anthology Solutions - the troubled vendor of the Yellow Machine storage device. The local subsidiary closed in September. Prior to that, he was AMD's country manager.
"I don't want to say too much about leaving Altech, except the business is strong and I have left it in a healthy situation," Robinson said.
He was already exploring new employment options, including some overseas postings.
Robinson said he would prefer to return to the ranks of IT vendors for his next role.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
