Google's new Nexus 7 Android tablet is now available in Australia, the company has announced.

The Nexus 7 Wi-Fi models are available now through "a number" of Australian retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith.

The 16GB Wi-Fi model sells for $299, while the 32GB Wi-Fi model is available for $339.

Last year's Nexus 7, still on sale both online and through Australian retailers, currently costs $249 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, and $299 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model.

Whle the new Nexus 7 is available through Australian retail stores, Google has not yet opened online sales through the Google Play Store.

There's also no word on when the 32GB Wi-Fi+LTE Nexus 7 model, priced at $439, will become available.

The Australian retail launch of the new Nexus 7 comes just over a month after Google officially unveiled the device globally.

The Nexus 7 Wi-Fi models are NOT YET available now at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Dick Smith. There are a few saying this but they are not available as yet.

Went to Dick Smiths today, nothing yet, its not even in their system yet, shouldn't be too long before they come out though.
