Cloud information protection company, CipherCloud, has established an office in Sydney to meet its Australian and Asia Pacific needs.
The office will provide on the ground customer support to local businesses with the help of sales and professional services staff.
While CipherCloud has already been serving customers in Australia before the Sydney office was established, founder and CEO, Pravin Kothari, expects the formal presence to strengthen the vendor’s position in the region.
“Like many countries around the world, organisations in A/NZ want to capitalise on Cloud applications in a secure way,” he said.
“Organisations are also rightly asking questions and looking for solutions that ensure data privacy, data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.”
As for why CipherCloud was driven to establish a physical presence in Australia, Kothari said it was due to strong interest for the company’s Cloud information protection in the region.
“This expansion will help us more easily collaborate with customers, partners and prospects that are embracing the Cloud age, as well as the information security requirements of the National Cloud Computing Strategy and the Privacy Act,” he said.
Kothari said some of the key verticals CipherCloud will be targeting in the region include banking, insurance, healthcare, government, retail, and high-tech sectors.
