Iomega adds memory cards to product line

Iomega on Friday announced plans to begin selling CompactFlash and SmartMedia cards under the Iomega brand name for use in the portable storage market.
Beginning in March, Iomega will offer CompactFlash cards with 16, 32, 64 and 128M bytes of memory. It also will offer SmartMedia cards with 16, 32 and 64M bytes of memory, Iomega said in a news release.
The addition of CompactFlash and SmartMedia storage options to Iomega's product offering gives it access to a wider variety of portable devices, including hand-held PCs, camcorders, digital audio players and laptop computers, the company said.
Iomega flash memory cards are expected to be available in stores and through iomegadirect.com. Prices have not been determined, Iomega said.
