Hewlett-Packard (HP) and business-process automation software provider webMethods have announced an alliance to codevelop software aimed at improving business interactions on the Internet by finding and correcting problems in application connectivity.
The HP OpenView software business unit will collaborate with webMethods to create the software, which will enable better management of application interactions throughout the extended supply chain, HP and webMethods said in a news release issued on Tuesday. The collaboration with webMethods is expected to yield an extension of the management capabilities of HP OpenView to include business process management.
In addition to the joint development work, HP's consulting business unit will recommend the webMethods integration platform as a preferred integration product for the manufacturing and supply chain markets. HP and webMethods also have agreed to establish a joint program management office for technology development and to jointly organize promotional activities and sales engagements.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
