Private health insurance and solutions provider, Medibank, has signed a deal to deploy HP Software to enhance service availability for its online member services platform and smartphone application.
Medibank approached HP with the need for a scalable IT monitoring solution to enable proactive, rapid issue detection and problem solving to minimise disruption to customers.
Its existing underlying IT system was under significant pressure as a result of a demand spike for both its online and mobile services.
Medibank decided to deploy HP’s Business Service Management (BSM) software, which has been integrated into its existing IT environment, enables monitoring of service health, applications, infrastructure, and network performance from one management console.
“With HP BSM software, we can better anticipate any potential IT problems,” Medibank architecture, design and security general manager, Cornel Viljoen, said. “This ensures that our service platforms are continuously available to our customers, ultimately increasing their satisfaction.”
As a result of the implementation, Medibank has been able to maintain both its online and mobile presence by proactively measuring and managing IT systems against agreed business service level agreements.
HP Diagnostics has allowed it to identify and isolate bottlenecks, which has enabled improvements in application stability, therefore reducing disruptions to business operations and customers.
In addition, Medibank’s IT team has achieved greater visibility into how the organisations’ monitored environments are operating. It can see transactions from the user’s point of view, and pinpoint issues accurately by simulating business transactions for predictable measurement.
