NextDC names Paul Gampe as CTO

Responsbile for the company's information systems and technology strategy

Datacentre operator, NextDC, has named Paul Gampe chief technology officer, responsible for the company’s information systems and technology strategy.

Gampe will also oversee the company’s customer-facing platforms including its Data Centre-as-a-service (DCaaS) offering, according to a filing with the ASX.

He will also further develop the company’s information management systems with a particular emphasis on security, governance and software development.

Gampe has long-standing experience in IT operations and software engineering and services. He spent over ten years at Red Hat Inc. and was most recently vice president of World Wide Engineering Services and Operations.

Prior to that, he served as general manager of TWICS, one of the first public ISPs in Japan. In 1998, he led technical operations for the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, a worldwide registry that governs the distribution of Internet resources.

VMware recently held an Asia-Pacific and Japan party for its partners in San Francisco following two days of keynotes and sessions. VMware's sponsors and partners used the opportunity at VMworld 2015 to showcase some of their technologies. At an exhibition hall, these vendors educated those that popped by their stands on these solutions and addressed some of the issues surrounding mobility, datacentres, and the Cloud. SOme of the big names there included f5, Palo Alto Networks, HP, Intel, Samsung, and Symantec.
