Telstra and CBA join ODCA

Added to Alliance as adopter members

The Open Data Centre Alliance (ODCA) has extended to its expansive adopter member list through the addition of Telstra and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).

ODCA was formed in 2010, and features a range of global IT giants. It is a led by a steering committee of senior IT executives from major companies including the likes of BMW, Deutsche Bank, NAB, and Disney Technology Solutions, among others.

As adopter members, the two will be able to participate in ODCA Roadmap reviews and utilise its usage models to guide their own datacentre purchase and planning decisions.

According to ODCA executive director, Marvin Wheeler, CBA and Telstra’s role in helping the alliance develop standard requirements for Cloud computing will be valuable.

As listed on the ODCA Web site, CBA and Telstra will also have the opportunity to gain insight through review and commentary on 0.7 usage model drafts prior to public distribution. In addition, both will have access to members-only events, and be able to participate in networking with other members through ODCA discussion forums.
