Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has invested $4 million into refurbishing its partner solutions centre based in North Ryde.
The solutions centre features all HDS products. It will also have equipment from some of its key partners such as Cisco, Brocade, Quantum and FalconStor and will act as a proof of concept for customers.
HDS CTO, Adrian Deluca, said it was a collaborative project that had been going on for the past 12 months and it had a number of members from its partner community build it with them.
“The reason we’ve put so much investment in there is that we see the need for our partners to get hands-on with our equipment,” Deluca, said. “With this facility they can book time in our labs, spend time with our engineers to get hands-on with our compute and storage platforms.
“It’s not just a facility where we demonstrate how cool the technology looks and operates, we’ve constructed very specific solutions for verticals that HDS is focusing on in Australia.”
One example that Deluca pointed out was its Hitachi Media Archive that has been built specifically for content aggregators and broadcasters.
Deluca said it was looking to add some strategic partners to its portfolio.
“What we’re doing this year was building a partner network that has very deep professional services skills around the deployment of our applications,” he said. “This year we recruited two Microsoft partners and an SAP partner, we’re also looking at our building our partners to represent our Oracle and Citrix solutions. We’ll be filling that out over the course of 2013.”
