Sophos launches latest UTM applicance

Specifically aimed at small businesses

Security vendor, Sophos, has released a unified threat management (UTM) appliance and software package aimed at small businesses.

The UTM 100 appliance features BasicGuard and offers network, email, web and wireless protection.

BasicGuard capabilities include web application control features, network firewall and IPS, remote access and VPN, wireless protection, web anti virus and URL filter, email antivirus and anti-spam.

UTM 100 users can upgrade their license to include extra advanced security features and accommodate more employees. “Today’s small businesses want a reliable set of core capabilities with full flexibility to expand features as their needs and budgets grow,” Sophos vice-president of product management, Chris Kraft, said in a statement.
