LG will be the firm behind the next and upcoming Google Nexus smartphone.
Multiple sources have told Androidandme that LG is the manufacturer working on the next Google Nexus smartphone. The device, called the LG Optimus G Nexus, will succeed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and will be revealed next month with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Visit Group test: what's the best Android phone?
The source said: "I can confirm the next nexus is LG Optimus based. The phone looks surprisingly like the Galaxy Nexus and does not have sharp corners like the LG Optimus we already know. It has a silver ring like the iPhone 3G around the outer edge of the screen which seemed to be similar to the Galaxy Nexus in size but was much better in brightness."

They also confirmed the device had the Nexus logo with the X in four colours alongside an LG logo. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will be the operating system rather than 5.0 Key Lime Pie which is expected in 2013.
Little is known about the specification of the LG Optimus G. It will supposedly come in two models, one with a 13Mp camera and one with an 8Mp camera. The Nexus model is likely to be the latter.
