The line-up for the Apple iPhone 5 started in front of the vendor's Sydney CBD store at 12pm on September 18 with MobilePhoneFinder.com.au’s publishing manager, Todd Foot, leading the charge.
There as part of a promotional campaign for the website, Foot was accompanied by personal finance publisher, Jeremy Cabral, and other staff who are sticking it out for two nights prior to the launch of the device.
“Basically, we’re just here to promote our website,” Cabral said. “We recently launched as a new tech startup here in Sydney, under parent website Finder.com.au.”
Foot said the features he looks forward to most are the new A6 processor and the device’s larger screen.
At the same time, he is disappointed by the lack of NFC, although looks forward to the feature appearing in future devices.
“I’m really just looking forward to getting the first iPhone 5 in Australia,” he added.
Daily life won’t be overly difficult for Foot and the rest of the crew, who are being supplied with food and beverages by their office manager.
“We have an awesome office manager bringing down food three times a day; at 7am, midday, and 5pm,” Cabral said.
Foot said the Apple store is providing them with some assistance by volunteering staff to take their spots if they need a restroom break. Tents are also being used for the evening camp out.
ARN will be catching up with Foot and Cabral on Friday, September 21, to see how they coped with the line-up.

Shameless advertising, and hasn't their website been around for some time now? Hardly a new start up!
