Suppliers shipping Apple's new iMacs, 13-inch Retina MacBook ready for 2012 launch - rumour

New reports claim that Apple could launch a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro this month

Apple's suppliers have begun shipping new iMacs and the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, according to reports.

DigiTimes claims that "sources from the upstream supply chain" have said that Apple will launch the 13.3in MacBook Pro with Retina display in September or October.

According to the report, shipment volumes of two new iMac models have seen an increase this month. The sources have said that Apple had planned to release three new iMac models, but "due to poor yields of the panels," the production of the "high-end model" has been postponed and a new launch date has not been set.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Apple's new iMacs won't have Retina displays because it would be too expensive to introduce to the 21.5in and 27in models.

Apple is holding a special event on Wednesday, where the iPhone 5 is expected to be announced, but new iMacs and MacBooks are unlikely.

Apple is rumoured to be planning a second event in October, where the new Macs could be announced alongside an iPad mini.

New reports have suggested that we could see the arrival of two iPod updates and an all new iPod line at Apple's event this week.
