IP and Ethernet switching solutions provider, Allied Telesis, has appointed James Burke as enterprise business development manager, based in Melbourne.
Burke will be in charge of channel partner support and business development for a range of video, voice and data network solutions to clients in multiple markets. Targets include government, healthcare, defence, education, retail, hospitality, and network service providers.
According to Allied Telesis Australia and New Zealand country manager, Scott Penno, the appointment was made to maintain pace with the incoming demand for the company’s technologies among organisations looking for alternatives to the dominant players in the market.
Burke, who has over 17 years’ experience in the IT industry, was most recently employed by Hitachi Australia as business development manager for five years. Prior, he worked in the UK for Toshiba Information Systems, where he held several roles, including public sector business development executive, and several channel-related positions. He has also held roles at Europa Merchant Services.
