iseek opens first NSW datacentre in North Sydney

Brisbane-headquartered data communications services provider, iseek Communications, has opened a new enterprise class Tier III datacentre which meets the technical requirements of government and corporate clients in North Sydney’s Gore Hill Business Park.

It is the company’s first datacentre in New South Wales, and is housed in a $100 million development. It was built and launched on the back of demand for more local facilities, according to iseek.

“A recent Gartner report suggests that global spending on enterprise Cloud will grow from $US95 billion in 2011 to $US205 billion by 2016, and that overall IT spend will increase by 4.4 per cent in 2013,” iseek managing director, Jason Gomersall, noted. “This market growth is helping drive demand for cutting edge datacentre facilities that can meet the need of companies for Australian IT infrastructure.”

The company also said that it is a large scale facility that will provide a robust datacentre environment for customers that want anywhere from a single rack footprint to many hundreds of racks.

Besides traditional datacentre and colocation services, the new datacentre offers private network solutions, and a range of complementary services to clients including 24/7 access, boardrooms, and staging rooms.

The launch comes approximately two years following the opening of iseek’s Brisbane Export Park facility. According to Gomersall, after 14 years of business development in Queensland, iseek is now ready to expand its national network.
