St George Banking Group adds further functionality to iPhone app

Launches credit card application feature from customer feedback, and introduces PropertyMate into app

The St George Banking Group has bolstered its iPhone app with the addition of credit card application and PropertyMate features.

The credit card application functionality, which is available through the St George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne iPhone mobile banking apps, was launched on the back of user demand.

“We noticed an increase in the number of customers using the web-form available on our websites to open a credit card,” St George Banking Group CIO, Dhiren Kulkarni, said. “The form isn’t user friendly when accessed via a smartphone, and so we made the process simpler and easier by creating a mobile-friendly form accessible via mobile banking.”

The feature includes a credit card selector to assist users in choosing the appropriate credit card for their needs.

While the credit card approval process remains the same, some existing customers are able to be approved on the spot.

The new PropertyMate feature aims to give property buyers and renters assistance in exploring properties. It guides users through key features, allowing them to record notes and impressions as they progress.

“PropertyMate really helps people balance their first impressions and what they love about a property with the detail, to help them make the right decision and avoid potentially nasty surprises,” St George Banking Group head of eChannels, Travis Tyler, said.
