Australian Cloud services provider, OBT, has signed a partner agreement with accounting practice management software vendor, Sage HandiSoft. Under the terms of the agreement, Sage HandiSoft will enable its customers with a fully integrated, complete practice in the Cloud using OBT’s Cloud technology infrastructure.
According to the company, it will provide organisations with the full application functionality of Sage HandiSoft along with Microsoft Exchange, Office, Lync and other business software applications.
Sage HandiSoft national sales and marketing manager, Gary Weisz, said it selected OBT to support its client-base as it had a track record in supporting professional services firms in the Cloud.
“The Cloud is a great way of delivering software and mobility and we’re now able to offer clients the opportunity to enhance enterprise application mobility and eliminate the pain and cost of maintaining an on premise IT platform which is typically a time consuming pursuit,” Weisz said.
OBT managing director and founder, Shane Muller, said partnering with Sage HandiSoft was a natural choice as practices can benefit from an industry tailored solution delivering Cloud services to the accounting sector.
“Firms can now have a single technology partner that relieves the burden IT can present to a business and focus on running their business and managing compliance rather than on co-ordinating their technology requirements.
“Additionally, it provides an ideal platform to incorporate unified communications, enabling the professional services market to communicate in a richer way with teams and clients,” he said.

So this is Handisoft's Cloud. A hosted version of their existing software in a data centre. Wow!!! What innovation...
And can I run the Handisoft cloud on my Mac, my iPad, my Tab, my iPhone, my Windows Phone, my Android Phone. No I can;t this is NOT cloud. This is a hosted solution using Citrix or terminal services. Hay, lets get a reality check....

Ron, you can use M$ Remote Desktop Connect for Mac. My concern is reliability of ADSL. My accountant used HnadiSoft and I look after his IT. He recently build a new office in a semi rural suburb near Newcastle and was told and assured he would have full ADSL2+ by the bullsh177ers at Telstra. When it came time to move to the new offices NO ADSL but for a small monthly fortune he could get 1.5GB 4G wireless which keep fading in and out or the totaly useless ISDN/Satellite. The NBN will not be going to this area period just the two above options and the copper netwrok that could have worked is going to be ripped out. So Cloud may have cost benifits but only if your cloud connection is bomb proof. I will be advising him for now to stay away from cloud. And would advise other accounts in a similar situations likewise especially as most seen to go ballistic when they can't get on the web or get email. Imagine what they are like at this time of year and they can't get into their HandiSoft Cloud.

I'm really trying to find a respectable internet site which includes decent product reviews devoid of people only selling me something. I was thinking that this post was so helpful that you may possibly have a couple of ideas for some really good websites or even blogs.

Ron, the HandiSoft Private Cloud solution would specifically enable our clients to access HandiSoft using a Mac, iPad or Android device capable of internet access. Please use the following link to access an article that will hopefully demystify the technical side of cloud computing. http://www.sagehandisoft.com.au/Cloud/HandiNews.aspx
