The NBN Co has announced Brad Orgill as its newest board director, effective immediately.
Diane Smith-Gander and Siobhan McKenna have been reappointed to the role and will continue to serve on the NBN Co board for a second three-year term. Peter Hay and Gene Tilbrook, who have played an important role over the past three years as NBN Co has grown from a start-up operation to an established company, are the outgoing directors.
“Orgill has valuable financial experience and a background in advising Government as a member of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Board and the former chair of the Building the Education Revolution Taskforce,” Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, said.
Prior to that, Orgill worked in global financial markets, spending 22 years at the UBS Group before retiring in 2008 as chairman of UBS Australia. He was previously CEO of UBS Investment Bank Australia and Head of Asia and Asia-Pacific Equities.
He intends to use his experience in both in the private sector and on a number of boards in his new role. Orgill is also a member of the Regional Development Australia Fund Advisory Panel.

As the chair of that resounding success, the Building the Education Revolution Taskforce, Orgill is eminently qualified for this new role as a director of the NBN Co., where he can again help squander billions of dollars public money.
