SAP is expanding its PartnerEdge program in a move designed to better harness SMB opportunities.
The announcement was made at the recent China SAPPHIRE event in Beijing, where Australian IT distributor, ACA Pacific, was one of the first distributors to join the SAP PartnerEdge program as an authorised reseller.
SAP A/NZ head of channels, Matthew Bolton, said the timing of the announcement is a means for the vendor to better support the growth of its SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence (BI) offering. “We have seen an increase in demand from customers to purchase our BusinessObjects BI solutions from local partners that they work with on a day-to-day basis,” he said.
“So we decided to launch the program to satisfy that demand.” As for what aspect of the program Bolton foresees appealing the most to A/NZ partners, he points towards variety.
“Access to an increased solution portfolio from us will enable our distributors and partners to offer an enhanced product and service offering to their customers,” he said.
In order for authorised reseller partners to join the program, they must be sponsored by an SAP-endorsed local distributor partner.
“Partners must also meet minimum program entry requirements, which include signing a partnering agreement and fulfilling the product authorization requirements,” Bolton said.
