EMC Corporation hosted its annual Forum today which was focused on the transformation of IT, business, and yourself.
The theme observed the transition from legacy systems, hardware, and attitudes, to the big trends, including Cloud, bring-your-own-device (BYOD), and virtualisation.
This was accompanied by an assessment of the changing workforce and its mentality surrounding new IT.
EMC global marketing CTO, Chuck Hollis, emphasised that "we have entered the information era," whereby value in the new economy is created by information, rather than things. In addition, he said that the challenge for the IT industry is to lay foundation for the new.
