Corporate Express has won major honours at The Australian Business Awards 2012.
The company won the Best New Product Award and the Product Innovation Award for Staples Carbon Neutral copy paper; the Environmental Sustainability in the Business category; and Staples print cartridge range won the Product Value Award for the Sustainable Earth.
“We are committed to sustainability in our own practices and to making it easy for our customers to make a positive difference in their workplaces," Corporate Express Head of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, Jennifer Levasseur, said.
“The development and launch of Staples Carbon Neutral copy paper is a significant step in Corporate Express’ commitment to sustainability. It provides customers with the opportunity to reduce their organisation's carbon footprint without having to sacrifice quality and performance or increase costs. Copy paper is our highest selling item, so the potential impact of this new offering is significant and we are already seeing strong take up,” Vice-President of Merchandising, Nick Severino, said.
Corporate Express’ EarthSaver classification program, was significantly expanded during 2011 and the company launched a premium brand of eco-conscious products – Sustainable Earth by Staples.
“While our products are perhaps the most visible aspect of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we also developed a comprehensive Environmental Management System which provides a framework for addressing the impacts that our operations have on the environment,” Levasseur said.
The prestigious and comprehensive Australian Business Awards, established in 2005, engage with leading corporate, government and non-profit organisations across key industry segments, including financial, manufacturing, professional services, energy, telecommunications, construction, transport, healthcare, education, food services and retail.
Entries are assessed using specific criteria via an established set of business and product award categories, benchmarking the full spectrum of organisational performance and product management to identify the industry leaders for each award category and industry classification. The awards raise the bar across all aspects of quality management and provide organisations with ways to review their business performance and identify their core strengths.
