McAfee appoints Craig Nielsen to senior channel role

Replaces Struthers who is promoted to senior vice-president of worldwide channel operations

Security vendor, McAfee A/NZ, has named Craig Nielsen to the role of Asia-Pacific senior director of channels and alliances.

Gavin Struthers, who held the position formerly, has been promoted to the role of worldwide channel operations senior vice-president.

Nielsen’s responsibilities include developing business with McAfee’s channel partners and establishing alliances across the Asia-Pacific region.

He has 17 years of industry experience, having worked in executive and management roles in the region and delivering enterprise and SME solutions to a range of industries.

Nielsen most recently served in Red Hat New Zealand as its general manager before taking on this role in McAfee.

He worked in various Red Hat offices for almost six years and prior to that, held a number of sales positions in UCS Software, Microsoft and SumTotal A/NZ.

Nielsen intends to use his in-depth experience in developing successful and enduring partnerships with leading integrators, outsourcers and solution providers in his new role.

“Craig’s expertise, experience and knowledge of the local channel market will be a fabulous asset to McAfee’s team,” McAfee Asia-Pacific president, Steve Redman, said.

The company announced Aileen Paterson will take on the role of national partner manager in A/NZ, with the aim of providing McAfee partners with a higher level of service.

Paterson will join Stacy Hall, recently hired as national channel account manager for A/NZ.

She has more than 15 years’ experience in the Australian ICT Industry with a specific focus on the channel.

Paterson most recently worked at Ingram Micro as its enterprise business development manager.

“These hires further strengthen the local channel program so we can provide our partners with the best support possible, comprehensive security products and marketing programs,” Redman claimed.

McAfee has also introduced the McAfee Profitability Stack, integrating the company’s global profitability programs into one comprehensive global offering.

It includes deal registration, incumbency advantage, tiered pricing, teaming plans, rewards, and rebates that were either enhanced or made available globally.
