my Tax Return 2012
Cost: $0.99 | Developer:A Squared Enterprises | Platform:iOS | Version 1.0 | 8.9MB | 4.0+
The my Tax Return 2012 app is designed to give you a quick indicative estimate of your tax refund so you have an idea of what kind of cash you can look forward to.
The app is built with two calculators. The first is a detailed tax refund estimator for 2012, which allows you to add various types of income and deductions. You can also elect offsets and other events that may affect your tax return.
It also has the ability to calculate Medicare levy, alongside HELP and SDSS debt.
The second is much simpler and quicker calculator that generates your return based on a given taxable incoming for 2012 and 2013.
For good measure, my Tax Return 2012 includes full tax return instructions for 2012.
Although most of us use a passcode on our smartphones anyway, the app has added an optional passcode feature for those that are after that bit of extra security.
Pros: Straight forward operation, clear and simple user interface, labels and category use.
Cons: Not for lodging a return, nor does it give a definitive calculation (the developers do outline this), not free.
Verdict: If you want to quickly figure out how much money will come back to your account, this cheap app is an easy way to find out.
