Trimble acquires WinEstimator to add to Meridian Systems

Deal to close in third quarter of 2012

Trimble has agreed to buy construction cost estimating software vendor, WinEstimator, expanding its products range for building owners and construction customers.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2012.

WinEstimator, which comprises a team of 25 industry professionals who provide estimating and cost modelling products to builders and capital project owners, will be integrated into Trimble’s engineering and construction subsidiary, Meridian Systems.

“The acquisition will allow Meridian to provide a broader range of solutions to general contractors and building owners executing projects around the globe,” Meridian Systems general manager, Geene Alhady, said.

WinEstimator solutions will also support the integration of cost data into other applications, including Meridian’s Prolog and Proliance software to enable the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) business practices.
