SAP A/NZ appoints Aroon Wadvani as education channel manager

Former Oracle and IBM veteran fills new role at software vendor

SAP A/NZ has made a new addition to its ranks with the appointment of Aroon Wadvani to the role of education channel manager.

Wadvani comes to SAP after holding the channel sales manager role at Oracle Applications in its commercial business, where he managed resellers across A/NZ.

Wadvani will work with universities and TAFEs in the role, as well as SAP Education Delivery partners, to grow SAP Business and IT skills on a local level.

In the newly-created role, Wadvani hopes to help address the IT skills shortage in Australia.

Providing greater availability of SAP business and IT skills will ultimately be beneficial to customers when making project-based decisions, according to him.

“I am looking to better collaborate with universities and TAFEs to help reach people who typically have three to five years relevant industry experience and want to learn about SAP, and how to work with our newer technologies,” he said.

Wadvani will be working in with the SAP ecosystem and channel, University Alliance Program (UAP), and the SAP Education team, as well as various ecosystem user groups.

“SAP Education has been running classroom instructor-led training during the normal working day, and we will now aim to offer more flexible delivery models to give greater availability of our course content,” he said, noting SAP's plans for online learning such as eLearning or SAP u-Academy.

That is expected to allow students to study at their own pace and time that better suits them because of work commitments.

“I would like to see greater adoption of these delivery models and working closer with our education partners here in Australia and New Zealand,” Wadvani said.

Before Oracle, Wadvani spent over ten years at IBM involved in partner sales in the education space.
