GPS navigation device manufacturer, TomTom, is targeting drivers of larger vehicles with the launch of its 6in Via 620 GPS unit.

The TomTom Via 620 is the company’s largest in-car GPS unit ever released.

In commenting not only on the size but also the resolution of the Via 620, TomTom Asia-Pacific vice-president, Chris Kearney, said, “We haven’t simply stretched the units. We’ve changed the proportions and designed the Via 620 with safety top of mind.”

Form factor aside, the TomTom Via 620 offers lifetime free daily map changes, with updates based on reports from TomTom’s Map Share community of over 21 million users.

Additionally, the TomTom Via 620 has a dual-mounting system so consumers can choose to place it on the dashboard or windscreen.

Another included feature is Advanced Lane Guidance which has a new ‘split-screen’ functionality for additional information.

The TomTom Via 620 is available now through leading Australian retailers or the TomTom website for $249.99.
