WD partners with Warner Brothers

Vendor brings Phoenix Project to the local market

Hardware manufacturer, Western Digital (WD), has revealed that it has signed an agreement with Warner Brothers which extends its existing Project Phoenix collaboration in the US to the Australian and New Zealand market.

The partnership was announced earlier today at WD’s MyNet Entertainment Accelerator unveiling.

Project Phoenix is a collaboration between WD and movie houses, such as Warner Brothers. It commenced at the conclusion of 2011, and is now being brought to Australia and New Zealand.

WD channel marketing manager, Dawn Denton, told ARN that it is a brand collaboration agreement that seeks to explore the best ways to bring the WD product to the local market through a range of marketing strategies.

These marketing strategies will focus on supporting retailers and channel partners in a way that most effectively brings consumers into their grasp.

The official launch will occur on July 1, according to WD channel marketing manager, Dawn Denton. It will feature a range of consumer promotions across all of WD’s key retail outlets and will involve the “usual suspects” it deals with.

“The consumer promotion will include all our major portfolio offerings, including MyNet, and will of course be Batman themed,” Denton said.

WD’s channel partners will also be able to win prizes, including cinema tickets, for example.

At present, Denton was unable to provide further information regarding the partnership.

This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
